Akshay Kumar has revealed that his son Aarav has no plans to join Bollywood. The actor shared this on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast Unplugged Shubhankar, which aired on April 18, 2026.

Akshay spoke warmly about Aarav’s choices. He said the two are very similar in nature — both health-focused and hardworking. But Aarav has chosen a completely different path.
Akshay said: “He doesn’t want to join films. He doesn’t have any such plan. He wants to be in fashion.”
He also shared a detail that surprised many listeners. Aarav is currently working a job that pays him just ₹4,500 a month. Akshay said: “Voh bechara aaj bhi ₹4,500 ki naukri kar raha hai. Acchi baat hai, kyun nahi?” (He is still working a ₹4,500 job even today. It’s a good thing, why not?)
Why Aarav Is Working at That Pay
This is not a financial necessity. Akshay explained that Aarav is learning fashion from the ground level. He is travelling to villages, studying different fabric prints, and understanding how fashion works at the source.
It is hands-on learning. Aarav is choosing experience over shortcuts.

Aarav was born in 2002. He is the elder child of Akshay Kumar and author Twinkle Khanna. At 15, he moved abroad for studies. He is currently enrolled at a university in London.
